  I know barbecue, and this ain't it. Sorry to break it to the people who claim to love authentic BBQ, but when the joint doesn't smell like your clothes after a campfire, it isn't the real deal. Embers has meat and BBQ sauce, but the preparation is similar to what someone would do in a condo. The portions are huge but other than the pulled pork wrap, the quality wasn't there. My ribs were either boiled or baked (no smoke ring or even a hint of smoke flavour) and drowning in overly sweet sauce. While ribs should be tender, the bones shouldn't drop off the meat- proper barbecued ribs should have a little pull. In addition, authentic barbecued ribs will have a crust from the rub- these were simply mushy. The beans were essentially molasses with no smokiness at all and the mixed salad was room temperature and flavourless. For what it's worth, I've done BBQ competitions and own my own smokers.

  Ordered the family chicken meal last night and was very disappointed. Our whole chicken was 2 breast pieces and 2 drumsticks. Not sure what happened to the rest of the chicken but it certainly didn't feed 4 as promised. This was a pick up meal and the second time items were left out of the order. Used to love this restaurant and dined here regularily but it's just so so these days.
